Success Recruit are currently working with a well-established family-run construction business who are looking to recruit a proactive, highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Administration & Plant Hire Assistant to join their fast-paced and dynamic team based in the Benfleet / Canvey area of Essex.
The Successful Accounts, Administration & Plant Hire Assistant Will:
- Demonstrate previous experience within the above and hold strong numerical and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and be confident learning new company systems
- Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage
- Ideally have previous experience within construction, plant hire, transport or a related industry

Purpose of the Role
The main objective of this role is to provide effective support across the accounts, administration and plant hire functions of the business. You will assist with financial administration, costing, data entry and invoice processing, whilst also providing cover for plant hire coordination and ensuring relevant documentation, records and site requirements are maintained accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
- Accurately entering financial and operational information into company systems and spreadsheets
- Processing invoices, purchase orders and supplier statements
- Supporting account reconciliations and day-to-day bookkeeping activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records, spreadsheets and company documentation
- Providing general office administration and ensuring filing systems and company records are kept up to date
- Answering incoming telephone calls and email enquiries, directing queries to the relevant individual where necessary
- Monitoring office supplies and placing orders when required
- Preparing reports, correspondence and supporting documentation
- Providing administrative support across different departments within the business
- Providing cover for plant hire administration during holidays and staff absences
- Processing plant hire bookings, schedules and off-hire requests
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, operators and site teams regarding plant hire requirements
- Assisting with transport and delivery coordination
- Ensuring plant documentation, inspections and certifications are accurately recorded and maintained
- Assisting the Operations Director and Site Managers to ensure key sites run smoothly and are supplied with the relevant plant, machinery and health & safety documentation

This position would suit someone who enjoys working in a varied and hands-on role, is confident working across multiple areas of a business, and takes pride in maintaining accurate records and providing reliable administrative and accounts support. The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change and no two days are the same.
Due to location – you must be able to drive and own transport.
Monday – Friday 6 hours a day – Monday – Friday – office based position
Salary £25-30k pro rata
