Company Description
HeliService UK is a specialist provider of demanding helicopter operations, focusing on offshore transport, offshore wind turbine support, HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services), and technical maintenance services. As a Leonardo Excellent Service Centre, the company delivers high-quality support for complex helicopter flight operations. HeliService UK offers full Part-145 maintenance services for customers in the UK and internationally, ensuring compliance with rigorous aviation standards. The company also operates an ANVIS-9 night vision goggle service centre, supporting safe operations in challenging night-time environments. HeliService UK values reliability, precision, and safety across all aspects of its service portfolio.
Role Purpose
To support the financial administration of a growing aviation company by managing day-to-day accounting activities, payroll and benefits administration, accounts receivable and payable, and monthly financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Process and post supplier invoices.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Post bank transactions and reconcile accounts.
- Review and process company credit card expenses.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments.
- Manage petty cash records where required.
- Maintain supplier and customer account information.

Payroll & Benefits
- Administer payroll and salary-related processes.
- Maintain employee benefits records and coordinate benefit administration.
- Support pension and other employee deduction processes.
- Ensure confidentiality of all employee and payroll information.
Reporting & Administration
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and account reconciliations.
- Prepare reports and financial information for management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
- Assist with audit and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications
- AAT qualification or qualified by experience, bookkeeping certification, or equivalent accounting qualification preferred
- Payroll administration qualifications or experience would be beneficial.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or finance administration role.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
- Experience with payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse and manipulate financial data.
- Experience using accounting and payroll software.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and maintain accounting records.
