Debut Training Academy is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and supportive Level 1 Beauty Therapy Tutor to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging practical and theory sessions for learners studying the VTCT Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with learners at the beginning of their beauty journey, helping them build confidence, develop practical skills and prepare for progression into Level 2 qualifications or employment within the beauty industry.
You will create an inclusive and motivating learning environment while ensuring learners gain the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons to Level 1 Beauty Therapy learners.
- Plan and deliver sessions that meet the VTCT qualification requirements.
- Assess learner practical work and provide constructive feedback to support development.
- Support learners with portfolio building and achievement of qualification criteria.
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor learner progress and identify any additional learning support required.
- Ensure teaching is delivered in line with awarding organisation standards.
- Maintain accurate learner records, assessments and attendance.
- Promote excellent health and safety practices within the salon and classroom.
- Encourage professionalism, confidence and positive learner behaviours.

You Must Be Confident Delivering
- The VTCT Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy, including:
- Manicure
- Pedicure
- Basic Skincare Treatments
- Day Make-up Application
- Basic Nail Art
- Themed Face Painting
- Photographic Make-up
- Salon Reception Duties
- Client Care and Communication
- Health & Safety within the Salon Environment
- Working Effectively as Part of a Team
- Professional Standards and Conduct within the Beauty Industry
Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified in Beauty Therapy (Level 2 or above).
- Strong practical experience within the beauty industry.
- Confident delivering beginner beauty treatments and supporting learners with varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about helping learners build confidence and develop new skills.
- Organised with strong administration and record-keeping skills.
- Patient, approachable and able to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learner needs.

Desirable
- Teaching qualification (Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent).
- Assessor qualification (CAVA/A1) or willingness to work towards one.
- Previous experience teaching or assessing vocational qualifications.
- Experience working with awarding organisations such as VTCT Skills.
- Experience supporting learners aged 16–19 or adult learners.
