Fully remote interim role supporting an international SME

Flexible hours, immediate start, hands-on finance role until October.

Bookkeeper (Interim) – Agency – 25 hours per week

Location: Remote (occasional travel to London office may be required)

Duration: 3 Months

Start Date: Immediate

We’re delighted to be supporting an established international project-led business in the search for an experienced Bookkeeper to join them on an interim basis.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping and transactional finance function, ensuring everything runs smoothly during a period of transition. This is a hands-on role offering plenty of autonomy, making it ideal for somebody who enjoys managing the day-to-day finances of a busy SME.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping for the business.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across internal systems.
  • Process purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions.
  • Prepare supplier payment runs and liaise with senior management regarding payment approvals.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet control accounts.
  • Support payroll administration alongside external payroll providers.
  • Raise customer invoices, prepare quotations and supplier purchase orders in conjunction with operational teams.
  • Monitor outstanding debtor balances and assist with credit control.
  • Support month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting for the Managing Director.
  • Act as the day-to-day finance contact for the wider business, assisting with finance-related queries.
  • Assist with the transition and handover to the incoming Finance Director.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or within a similar all-round finance role.
  • At least five years’ experience working within a commercial finance environment.
  • Confident managing both purchase ledger and sales ledger independently.
  • Strong reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working within an SME, agency or creative environment is essential.
