Role Description
This is a part-time Building Surveyor role based in the North West with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site work with some work from home. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Conducting building surveys
- Preparing detailed reports
- Providing professional advice on building condition, defects, and maintenance

The role involves visiting residential, commercial, and public sector properties, assessing compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and supporting project delivery where required. The Building Surveyor will liaise with clients, contractors, and internal colleagues to ensure that survey findings and recommendations are clearly communicated and accurately documented.

Qualifications
- Professional qualifications in Building Surveying (e.g., degree in Building Surveying or related discipline; RICS accreditation or working towards it).
- Strong technical knowledge of building construction, defects diagnosis, maintenance, and property legislation.
- Experience conducting building surveys, preparing clear written reports, and interpreting relevant codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, including planning site visits and managing multiple assignments.
- Competence in using surveying tools and relevant software (e.g., MS Office, report-writing systems, digital surveying tools).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, maintaining attention to detail and professional integrity.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites in Preston and surrounding areas; previous experience in residential, commercial, or public sector projects is an advantage.
