Clinical/Forensic Psychologist Opportunity at Thornford Park Hospital
Are you a highly motivated Psychologist looking to take the next step in your career? Join Thornford Park Hospital as a part-time Clinical/Forensic Psychologist for 30 hours per week, where you will play a key role within a male Low Secure Unit (LSU). As the Ward Psychologist, you will be an integral part of the Multidisciplinary Team, providing specialist psychological input to a complex patient group and helping shape high-quality, patient-centred care.
In This Role, You Will
- Manage your own caseload: Working with complex service users.
- Attend regular clinical and service development meetings: Such as MDT’s, CPA’s, referrals, and other hospital-wide meetings.
- Be an integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team on Male LSU.
- Provide both long & short-term work: This includes clinical assessments to determine clinical needs and treatment plans.
- Provide both individual and group work to the patients.
- Maintain monthly clinical supervision as well as regular line-management supervision.
- Provide clinical supervision to other therapy staff as appropriate and facilitate reflective practice.
- Provide both written & verbal contributions to the MDT/ICR.
- Support the MDT in the development and review of care plans.
- Offer specialist clinical advice: Including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care within the service.
- Contribute to professional development within the team.
- Contribute to teaching as part of Induction/mandatory training.
- Contribute to audit and research as directed by the line manager.

What You Will Need
- Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist and eligible for Chartered status with the British Psychological Society.
- Experience in using psychological models and theories to address a range of risk and behavioural issues.

- Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET.
