Dentalcare Hook is looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and patient-focused Dental Receptionist to join our busy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the reception area while supporting both NHS and private patient journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and providing outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone.
- Managing appointment bookings and maintaining an efficient clinician diary.
- Maximising diary utilisation and supporting practice performance.
- Discussing and promoting suitable private treatment options and dental plans to patients.
- Handling patient enquiries and providing accurate information about treatments and services.
- Processing payments and balancing daily transactions.
- Managing outstanding patient balances and supporting debt recovery processes in a professional and sensitive manner.
- Maintaining accurate patient records using practice management software.
- Coordinating communication between patients, clinicians, and the wider practice team.
- Supporting the practice in achieving excellent patient satisfaction and retention.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- Hours: 32 hours over 4 days
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and diary management abilities.
- Confidence handling payments and financial transactions.
- Ability to work flexibly between Monday and Saturday.
- Professional, positive, and proactive attitude.
- Good IT skills and attention to detail.

Desirable
- Previous dental reception experience.
- Experience using dental practice management software.
- Experience discussing private treatment options and treatment plans with patients.
- Understanding of NHS and private dental services.
