Summary

We are the public body that looks after England’s historic environment. We champion historic places, helping people understand, value and care for them.

Historic England has a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Facilities Assistant.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, 18 hours per week, based in our York office.

Salary is £25,179 pro rata.

What you will be doing

As our facilities assistant, you will ensure day to day facilities management services are delivered on site and that facilities are safe, clean, well-stocked, suitably maintained, well presented and comfortable at all times.

You will act as the first point of contact for colleagues, tenants and visitors on site, and monitor performance standards of key contractors.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience of managing day-to-day communications with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of (or willingness to undertake training in) First Aid, Fire Warden, Contractor Management, Asbestos Awareness, Health and Safety, Electrical safety, Risk Assessments
