Your new company

A well-established educational setting is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide interim work within its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with previous school finance experience and strong working knowledge of FMS to join a supportive environment during a busy and important period of the academic year.

Your new role

Reporting to the Strategic Finance Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and assisting with key year-end finance activities.

Duties will include:

  • Processing purchase orders, invoices and journals using FMS.
  • Maintaining supplier records and resolving invoice queries.
  • Processing BACS payments and supporting creditor management.
  • Raising invoices and supporting income collection processes.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and purchasing card statements.
  • Supporting budget monitoring and financial reporting activities.
  • Administering ParentPay and assisting with income reconciliation.
  • Assisting with statutory returns and year-end financial procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience working within a school finance environment.
  • Working knowledge of FMS is essential.
  • Experience processing purchase orders, invoices and reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of ParentPay and SIMS would be advantageous.
