About the Role
Our long-serving Finance Manager is retiring after many years at Solid Floor, and we're looking for the person who'll shape what comes next — joining us for 2.5 days a week, based at our Spitalfields, E1 showroom with remote working also available.
Solid Floor imports specialist hardwood flooring for architects, interior designers, developers and main contractors across London, working out of two showrooms and turning over around £2m a year. We're a small, close team of five — and this role owns our entire finance function.
Here's the honest pitch: for years, our finance processes have been run manually. We want to change that. We're looking for someone who genuinely uses AI and automation in their day-to-day finance work — not as a buzzword, but as how they actually get things done — and who'll take ownership of modernising bookkeeping, reporting and payments from day one.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
