Mission
As a Food & Beverage Assistant, you will support the daily operation of our Food & Beverage outlets by delivering friendly, efficient and personalised service to every guest. Working alongside the wider Food & Beverage team, you will help create memorable dining experiences while ensuring all service standards, operational procedures and brand expectations are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, professional and personalised service, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience.
- Prepare restaurant and bar areas before each service, ensuring tables, equipment and service stations are fully set to brand standards.
- Assist with the efficient service of food and beverages, ensuring orders are delivered accurately and promptly.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of menus, daily specials and hotel facilities to confidently assist guests and promote additional products and services.
- Support Waiters and Chef de Rang throughout service to ensure smooth operations and excellent teamwork.
- Attend daily team briefings and communicate effectively regarding VIP guests, special events, menu changes and operational priorities.
- Handle guest requests and resolve service issues professionally, escalating concerns where appropriate to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food safety while following all Health & Safety procedures and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Minimise waste and handle equipment, crockery and glassware carefully to prevent breakages and ensure operational efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programmes while demonstrating the Meliá values and commitment to service excellence.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Food & Beverage, restaurant, bar or hospitality environment is desirable.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service with a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, positive and professional attitude.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Ability to remain calm, organised and efficient under pressure.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety practices, or willingness to learn.
- Smart personal presentation and a positive attitude that reflects the Meliá brand.
- Eagerness to learn, develop new skills and build a long-term career within an international hospitality company.
