Role Overview
A private UHNW client is seeking a careful, experienced and discreet part-time Housekeeper to support the upkeep and presentation of an extremely unique and sensitive historic property in St John’s Wood.
The property is not the client’s main residence. The client lives primarily in the Cotswolds, and the St John’s Wood property is used more as a private workspace / art space, with occasional overnight stays by the client or guests. The property therefore needs to be kept beautifully maintained, carefully cleaned and ready for use when required.
The household already has a very senior Housekeeper in place. The successful candidate will work alongside and under the direction of the Senior Housekeeper, helping to maintain the property to a consistently high standard.
This is a hands-on housekeeping role suited to someone who understands the importance of care, patience and attention to detail, particularly when working in a home with delicate finishes, fine materials and historic interiors.
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- 8am to 4pm (or possibly 9am to 5pm)
Occasional weekend flexibility may be required by prior arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Regular housekeeping and careful upkeep of the property
- Ensuring the property is clean, organised and beautifully presented
- Preparing the property for client or guest use when required
- Careful cleaning and maintenance of delicate interiors, surfaces and finishes
- Working respectfully within a sensitive historic property
- Following instructions from the Senior Housekeeper and maintaining established standards
- Supporting the Senior Housekeeper with room preparation and presentation
- Dusting, polishing, vacuuming and general cleaning using appropriate methods and products
- Handling fine furnishings, fabrics, antiques, artwork and special surfaces with care
- Reporting any maintenance, damage or care concerns promptly to the Senior Housekeeper
- Assisting with occasional deeper cleaning tasks where required
- Laundry and wardrobe care
- Open the door/ accept deliveries in the Senior Housekeeper's absence
- Maintaining discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Working Environment
This is a refined historic private property with sensitive features, finishes and artwork. It is used primarily as a private workspace / art space rather than as a full-time family residence, although the client or guests may stay overnight from time to time.
The role is therefore focused on careful upkeep, presentation, preservation and readiness, rather than heavy daily family housekeeping. It would suit someone who takes pride in meticulous, thoughtful housekeeping and understands that the correct approach is not only about cleaning, but about caring for and preserving the property.
