About the Role
We are looking for a creative, motivated and hands-on Social Media Manager to join our team at a fresh flower wholesaler and florist based in Nine Elms, London.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing our online presence across multiple social media platforms. This is a hands-on creative role that combines social media management, photography, videography, content creation, video editing and digital marketing.
You will be responsible for showcasing our fresh flowers, ready-made bouquets, floral arrangements, products and day-to-day activities through engaging and visually appealing content.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in flowers, floristry, photography and social media, together with a strong eye for detail and an understanding of what makes content engaging and shareable.
This role would suit a creative individual who is comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team player.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with the company's brand, products and business objectives.
- Manage and maintain social media accounts across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest.
- Create and maintain a consistent social media content calendar.
- Schedule and publish regular posts, Stories, Reels and other platform-specific content.
- Monitor comments, messages, mentions and engagement and respond appropriately.
- Keep up to date with social media trends, new features, popular formats, hashtags and relevant trends within the floristry, floral design and retail industries.
- Optimise social media profiles, including bios, profile images, contact details, links, highlights and other platform configurations.
- Ensure all social media accounts are correctly set up, connected and maintained.
Photography & Content Creation
- Photograph ready-made bouquets, fresh flowers, floral arrangements and other products for use across social media and digital marketing channels.
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of flowers, bouquets, displays, deliveries, behind-the-scenes activities and the working environment.
- Create original, visually appealing content that reflects the quality and personality of the business.
- Develop creative concepts for seasonal campaigns, promotions, new products and special occasions.
- Produce content around key floral occasions such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas, weddings and other relevant seasonal events.
- Maintain a consistent visual style across all digital platforms.
- Select, edit and prepare photographs for social media and other marketing purposes.

Video & Reels
- Film and edit engaging short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook and other relevant platforms.
- Edit footage into professional and engaging social media content.
- Add music, captions, text overlays, transitions and other appropriate effects.
- Develop creative Reel concepts that showcase bouquets, flowers, products and the team's work.
- Repurpose existing photography and video content into different formats suitable for multiple platforms.
- Stay informed about current video trends, audio, formats and editing styles.
Social Media Strategy & Growth
- Develop ideas to increase brand awareness, engagement, followers and customer interaction.
- Research relevant hashtags, keywords, trends and competitor activity.
- Identify opportunities to increase organic reach and engagement.
- Monitor social media performance and make recommendations based on results.
- Support the development of promotional campaigns and product launches.
- Work closely with the wider team to identify products, services and stories that can be turned into engaging content.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor social media performance and key metrics, including:
- Reach and impressions
- Engagement
- Follower growth
- Video views
- Website or profile visits
- Content performance
- Audience demographics and behaviour
- Prepare regular social media performance reports.
- Analyse results and identify which types of content perform best.
- Provide practical recommendations for improving future content and engagement.
- Track performance against agreed objectives and targets.
Digital & Administrative Support
- Maintain organised folders for photography, video, graphics and social media assets.
- Assist with the management of digital marketing materials.
- Ensure brand information, contact details, links and business information are accurate across social media platforms.
- Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Support other reasonable marketing and administrative tasks related to the role.
Essential Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in social media management, digital marketing or content creation.
- Strong knowledge of major social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
- Experience creating and editing short-form video content and Reels.
- Photography skills with a strong eye for composition, lighting and presentation.
- Experience using photo and video editing applications.
- A good understanding of social media trends, algorithms and platform-specific content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- A creative approach with the ability to generate original content ideas.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- A proactive, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small, busy team.

Desirable Skills
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience working within the floristry, flower, retail, fashion, hospitality, lifestyle or e-commerce industries.
- Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro or similar creative software.
- Experience with CapCut or other mobile video-editing applications.
- Experience managing business accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest.
- Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
- Basic knowledge of SEO and digital marketing.
- Experience creating product photography.
- An interest in flowers, floral design, interiors, fashion, lifestyle or visual content.
- Knowledge of London-based social media trends and local marketing.

Working Pattern
This is a part-time hybrid position based between our premises in Nine Elms, London, and remote working.
Because photography and video content need to be captured on-site, the successful candidate will be required to attend the premises regularly to photograph fresh flowers, ready-made bouquets, floral arrangements and other content.
The role offers flexibility around remote working for social media management, content planning, editing, scheduling, reporting and other digital tasks.
Working hours: Part-time, to be agreed with the successful candidate.
