Part time Learning and Development Facilitator
Position Summary
The purpose of this role is to support the Training Manager to deliver and implement the Learning and Development requirements for over 300 staff in a group of Care Agencies in Cornwall & Devon. In particular; the planning, teaching and evaluation, recording and reporting of agreed mandatory and professional training programmes for staff.
The training is delivered in line with organisational values and requirements as per the sector standards and compliance with the Care Quality Commission.
This position will be based in Redruth but there is flexibility and choice of location within Cornwall or Devon and the base could be adapted to suit the right candidate in the long run.
Hours: 20 hours a week
Salary: £15.25p/h
Accountable to: Training Facilitator
Job Responsibilities
- Report to Training manager
- Deputise for the Training Manager in their absence
- Deliver mandatory and other core subjects independently
- Maintain appropriate systems for evaluating and measuring aspects of staff training and development
- Work within the training team to assess care certificates
- Deliver additional one to one and group sessions as needed to meet the learners need
- Work with the training team to develop and update training resources in line with best practice
- Communicate feedback to trainees and record evidence
- Complete trainee’s certificates in a timely fashion and send to the appropriate manager.
- Keep matrixes up to date
- Update own knowledge and skills by regularly undertaking PDP. This will also include one double handed care run every 3 months.
- Attend and contribute to Team meetings and other meetings as required
- Inform the Training Manager / other of any issues that are likely to adversely impact quality of Service users care and/or health and safety of employees
- Tasks and projects as determined by the Training Manager within the scoop of the role.
- Liaise with Diploma assessor for staff completing Diploma training
- Help maintain the NMDS database
- Assist staff to develop in their role and level of compliance with agreed standards
- Establish relationships with learning institutions to promote availability of staff training at all levels.
- Seek opportunities for own development and growth.

Essential
- Previous experience in the health and social care sector
- Confidence when working within a team as well as self-motivated to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptable and flexible approach to tasks
- Computer literate
Preferred
- A training qualification equivalent or more than Level 3 Education and Training
- Up to date training qualifications in First Aid and Moving and Handling
- Full Driving Licence
