About the Role

The School of Hair and Beauty are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join their team as a part-time learning assistant. The suitable candidate should have a background in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy holding a minimum of a Level 2 in both areas. Level 3 would be advantageous, to support you in this role.

Responsibilities

The role requires a proactive individual to provide technician support for the practical salons, including maintaining and monitoring all aspects of reception, stock and equipment. Furthermore, support to the staff and students in classrooms. The successful candidate will be part of the curriculum team, working alongside teaching staff to support learning.

Requirements

Based at our Luton campus, experience working with young adults would be advantageous, as would an understanding of salon booking systems for hair and beauty services and reception work.

You will be required to manage stock and demonstrate correct and safe use of equipment to students and staff. This could include booking and allocating equipment, maintaining it or preparing it for planned practical use in lessons.

The successful candidate will promote professionalism and excellent customer service at all times. You will have a good practical knowledge of the hairdressing and beauty environment, supporting learners with developing reception and stock control and displays.

It is essential that you have a professional manner, good communication skills and are capable of interpreting technical information and explaining it clearly.

The successful candidate will be working 27 hours per week at our Luton Campus. This role is term time only, working 35 weeks per year.
