Lecturer in English

Fixed-Term Contract until July 2027 (Academic Year)

Hours: 6.5 hours per week (0.18 FTE) - 2 half days per week

Salary: Qualified Lecturing Scale £5,207 - £6,987 per annum (pro rata)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational Lecturer in English to join our English team on a part-time basis for just two half days per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to combine teaching with other professional, academic or personal commitments while making a genuine difference to learners' lives.

At St Helens College and Knowsley Community College, you will support students to develop their English skills, gain essential qualifications and progress towards their future career and education goals.

Working within a supportive and collaborative curriculum team, you will deliver engaging lessons, assess learner progress and help students achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience teaching English, ideally within Further Education or an equivalent setting.
Holds a relevant degree or professional qualification.
Holds a recognised teaching qualification (or is willing to work towards one).
Has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
Can motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about supporting student success and achievement.
