Sewell Wallis are recruiting a part time Management Accountant for a long-standing and forward-thinking charity, based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
The Charity has been operating for nearly 20 years, they operate at just under £10mil turnover and has a team of committed staff who have been with the business for many years.

Role Overview
This role is part time, offering approx. 22.5 hours, which can be worked in various working patterns (i.e. across 3 days, or 5 days, and with flexible working hours) and offers mostly home working, with 2-3 trips to the office a month, which is perfect for those working around other weekly commitments. They are looking for a capable Management Accountant to produce the management information from start to finish, providing analysis and commentary. The role sits under a Finance Director, so you'll have someone to learn from and help develop your skillset over time.

Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including transaction processing, analysis, and commentary on performance.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, manage assigned cost lines, work with teams to develop project/product costing, bid budgets and funding proposals.
- Work closely with budget holders and project managers to monitor budgets, provide financial information, explain variances, manage grant claims and invoices, and ensure funding is used appropriately.
- Help manage organisational cashflow and investments, ensuring sufficient funds are available, and oversee accurate and timely payments including payroll, PAYE, pensions and VAT.
- Maintain effective financial controls and reconciliations, ensure accurate VAT treatment and returns, and support compliance with charity accounting standards, funder requirements and Charity Commission regulations.
- Coordinate monthly payroll information, manage the organisation's pension scheme and new joiners, and oversee the annual insurance renewal process with external providers and brokers.
- Support year-end audits and manage project/funding audits and claims, ensure grants are paid and reclaimed appropriately, and produce financial reports and ad hoc information for boards, funders, SMT and other stakeholders.

Skills Required
- Qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or QBE with 5+ years within a management accountant role
- Ideally Charity Or Public Sector Experience, Although Not Essential
- Experience completing management accounts, beginning to end
- Strong communicator, both verbal and written
- Experience with Sage would be beneficial
- Experience with VAT returns
