Role Description
The Part Time Online Teacher of English (KS3 and KS4) will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned live lessons to secondary students in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

- Planning and teaching interactive English sessions
- Setting weekly tasks
- Marking and providing constructive feedback
- Monitoring student progress
- Using the online learning environment and resource library to support differentiated instruction and meet diverse learner needs
- Maintaining clear communication with families and schools
- Contributing to progress reports
- Following safeguarding and data protection procedures at all times
This is a part-time, remote position that requires scheduling flexibility to accommodate students’ timetables.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in English for KS3 and KS4, including experience with UK curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, and adapt engaging online lessons, using digital platforms and tools effectively.
- Skills in assessing student work, providing clear feedback, and tracking progress to inform next steps in learning.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills in a virtual environment, with a supportive, learner-centered approach.
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, with at least 2 years of classroom or online teaching experience.
- Enhanced DBS check, up-to-date safeguarding training, and a strong commitment to student safety and wellbeing.
- Reliable internet connection, appropriate home working setup, and confidence using learning management systems and video-conferencing tools.
- Experience with homeschooling or alternative provision is beneficial, as is familiarity with working with diverse and neurodiverse learners.
