Company Description

Success Academies provides low-cost, high-quality homeschooling, alternative provision, and online tuition solutions for learners across the UK. The organization supports families who choose home education and schools seeking affordable alternative provision, with structured online live lessons and a strong resource base.

Its core package offers weekly online classes, access to an engaging virtual learning environment, regular tasks, and half-termly progress reports to track learner progress. All teachers have at least two years of classroom experience, are fully DBS checked, and are safeguarding trained, ensuring a safe and professional learning experience.

Success Academies is also a carbon neutral company and actively offsets its carbon footprint by planting trees in cities.

Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for online teachers in History, Media Studies, Computer Science, and Games Development. Teachers will deliver live online lessons, using clear communication and engaging teaching methods to support learners in their chosen subjects.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Planning and preparing lessons
  • Setting and reviewing weekly tasks
  • Providing constructive feedback
  • Maintaining accurate records of learner progress
  • Collaborating with the wider teaching team to ensure consistency
  • Safeguarding learners
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs

Teachers are expected to use digital platforms effectively, respond promptly to learner and family queries, and contribute to a supportive online learning environment.

For each subject, there are only limited hours currently available, but more opportunities will likely present themselves during the academic year.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with subject expertise in History, Media Studies, Computer Science, or Games Development.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training to design structured, engaging online learning experiences.
  • Excellent Communication skills for delivering virtual lessons and providing clear feedback to learners and families.
  • Experience with online or blended learning environments, including confidence using virtual classroom and learning management tools.
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with school-age learners.
  • Relevant academic qualification in one or more of the subject areas (e.g., degree in History, Media Studies, Computer Science, Games Development, or related fields).
  • Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge and eligibility for enhanced background checks (such as DBS checks in the UK).
  • Strong organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Payment

Success Academies pays teachers an hourly fee of £30. Occasionally, admin work will be available, this is paid at £15 per hour.
