Part-time role of 7.5 hours per week

Priory Hospital Bristol has an opportunity for a Physical Health Nurse with active NMC Registration to join our team.

Priory Hospital Bristol, Stapleton, Bristol is a specialist mental health and addiction treatment service for individuals, families, and couples. It provides fast access to treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions and addictions. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Stapleton and Bristol Parkway railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the hospital.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalized approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

  • Provide comprehensive physical healthcare assessments and ongoing care for patients, ensuring needs are identified, documented, and managed appropriately.
  • Support and advise nursing and medical staff on physical health, including chronic disease management, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, wound care, screening, and physical observations.
  • Undertake clinical duties including prescribing, ECGs, phlebotomy, and wound care, and oversee physical healthcare care plans and staff training.
  • Liaise with primary care services to coordinate health reviews, vaccinations, and screening programs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and complete required reports and discharge summaries.
  • Lead on infection prevention and control audits, medical device safety, and outbreak management.
  • Promote smoking cessation, health education, and public health initiatives while maintaining professional relationships with patients, carers, and colleagues.

Essential for the role

  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience within Physical Health Care Environment, evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field.
