Company Description

Madad UK (MUK) a registered charity, working alongside ZeroPA provides education, tools, and access to small, interest-free loans ranging from £50 to £150 with flexible repayment terms of 1 to 52 weeks in up to 12 instalments. Committed to financial empowerment, the organization supports individuals in achieving economic stability. ZeroPA is currently in the process of obtaining an FCA license to enhance its operations and credibility.

The current store in Watford opened in June 2025 and is currently staffed entirely by volunteers and sells furniture, clothing, bric a brac, small electricals and white goods.

We plan to open Bedford store in the next 3-4 weeks, with Luton by March 2026 and Milton Keynes by May 2026.

With the net proceeds from our stores we give grants of up to £50 towards food, utilities and clothing.

Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid role for a Retail Area Manager, based in Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes or Watford, with the flexibility to work largely from home with regular store visits.

The role involves overseeing retail operations across multiple locations - currently 1 growing to 4 or 5 by Summer 2026, ensuring optimal customer service, managing sales performance, and meeting business objectives.

Key daily responsibilities include supporting retail teams, analyzing sales data, developing strategies to drive profitability, and ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.

The role will initially be 4 hrs per week 9-6, extending by 4 hrs as each new store opens.

Qualifications

  • Strong Retail, Customer Service, and Sales experience, with the ability to drive performance and meet targets
  • Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams
  • Strong Analytical Skills to understand sales trends, customer behaviour, and operational metrics
  • Experience in managing multiple locations and ensuring operational standards
  • Proven problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities
  • Relevant experience in managing financial services or retail operations is advantageous
  • Qualifications in business management, finance, or a related field are a plus
