Part-Time School Administrator - Temporary Ongoing - South Shields
Are you an organised and proactive Administrator looking to make a positive impact within the education sector? Our client is seeking a Part-Time School Administrator to join their busy and welcoming team in South Shields on a temporary ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy school environment while providing a professional and friendly service to students, parents, staff, and visitors.
Position Details
Job Title: School Administrator
Location: South Tyneside
Contract Type: Temporary Ongoing
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Working Pattern: Part-Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm (Term Time Only)
An Enhanced DBS certificate is essential for this role and must either be current on the DBS Update Service or candidates must be willing to undergo a new Enhanced DBS check prior to commencement.
Key Responsibilities
As the School Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and students. Working in a busy and fast-paced environment, you will provide essential administrative support to help ensure the smooth running of the school.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Handling incoming telephone calls, responding to enquiries, and directing calls appropriately.
- Providing administrative support across various departments within the school.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using internal systems and databases.
- Managing reception duties and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.
- Organising and prioritising a varied workload while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For
- Previous administration experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A professional, flexible, and positive approach to work.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is highly desirable.
