Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant | Southwark | £95 per Day
Location: Southwark, Greater London
Pay: £95 per day
Contract: Part-Time
You Don't Have to Work Full-Time to Make Your Time at School Count
Perhaps you're looking for a role that fits around other commitments. Perhaps you want to continue working in education without committing to five days a week.
Or maybe you're looking for an opportunity to build your SEND experience while maintaining some flexibility.
Classroom Support is recruiting a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs within a welcoming education setting in Southwark.
You'll work alongside experienced teaching staff to help individual pupils access learning, build confidence and participate more independently in school life.
It's meaningful work, with a working pattern that doesn't necessarily have to take over your whole week.
Help Make Learning More Accessible
Imagine being given a task you don't fully understand, in an environment you find overwhelming, while everyone around you appears to know exactly what they're doing.
Sometimes a child doesn't need an easier task.
They need a different way into it.
That might mean breaking an instruction into smaller steps, adapting a resource, providing additional processing time or helping a pupil regulate before returning to learning.
You'll get to know the individual children you support and learn what helps each of them engage successfully.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Sometimes the Difference Is Simply Finding Another Way
A pupil might struggle to complete a whole worksheet but succeed when it's broken into three manageable steps.
They might find group learning overwhelming but thrive with a few minutes of individual preparation first.
They may initially need you beside them, and gradually discover they can manage without you.
That's what good SEN support can achieve.
Not removing every challenge, but helping a child find a way through it.
If you're looking for a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity in Southwark where you can develop your experience while keeping greater flexibility in your working week, Classroom Support would love to hear from you.
