Part-Time Senior Bookkeeper – Luton
About the Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to work with our clients on a part-time, self-employed basis.
You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping function while providing valuable support to the wider finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy and wants to make a genuine commercial impact.
Alongside the core bookkeeping responsibilities, you’ll help improve financial processes, strengthen controls and drive greater efficiency, accuracy and visibility across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping activities
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Manage credit control and cash collection
- Oversee inventory management
- Complete regular bank reconciliations
- Manage purchase and sales ledgers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Support month-end processes
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency
- Provide finance support to the Financial Controller as required

About You
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper
- Strong experience preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Excellent credit control skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach
- The ability to work effectively alongside and support the Financial Controller
Role Details
- Location: Luton – onsite
- Hours: 2 days per week
- Start Date: ASAP
- Rate: £22.50 per hour
- Basis: Self-employed
