A well-established and respected organisation in Central Bournemouth, Dorset is looking for an experienced Finance Accounts Professional / Senior Bookkeeper to join its friendly and supportive team.
The Part-time Accounts Job
This is a varied part-time finance and accounts role, ideal for an experienced bookkeeper or part-qualified accountant looking for approximately 25–28 hours per week across four or five weekdays. The role would fit perfectly into a school hours timetable or someone looking for a part-time, flexible working role. The role is office based in Central Bournemouth.
Reporting into the wider management team, you will take responsibility for a range of finance and accounts duties, including:
- Sales ledger, purchase ledger and general accounts administration
- Processing invoices and cash transactions
- Credit control and monitoring outstanding balances
- Monthly payroll processing – desirable but not essential
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Gift Aid claims and levy repayments
- Analysis of fundraising income
- Monthly financial reporting for the Board
- Supporting year-end accounts and financial reporting
- Membership subscriptions and payment processing
- Dealing with finance queries and general member enquiries
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of the finance function

About You
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts administration or bookkeeping role
- SAGE 50 Accounts experience – desirable
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Good understanding of Trial Balance, Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss
- Experience of sales ledger, purchase ledger, invoicing and reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly organised and able to work independently
Desirable:
- SAGE Payroll experience
- Previous experience processing monthly payroll
- Experience of Gift Aid, subscriptions, membership income or charity/fundraising accounts
- AAT qualification or studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA
