About Bearable

We have two positive impact apps:

Foxtale is a guided journaling app with a fox companion - one you name yourself. You journal, and your fox collects your emotions as glowing orbs to restore a forgotten world. Along the way you pick up the emotional skills most of us were never taught.

We're a small, fully remote, bootstrapped UK team. We also build Bearable, a symptom-tracking app used by hundreds of thousands of people managing chronic conditions. Foxtale launched recently, people love it (our reviews are close to perfect), and now we need more people to find out it exists.

The role

We want one person to own Foxtale's TikTok and Instagram presence: making the videos, appearing in them, and living in the comments.

This isn't an ads job. We already run paid creative separately. This is about building a real audience around the fox and the world of Foxtale and Bearable - the kind of account people follow because they like it, not because they were targeted.

You'd be starting close to scratch, which is the fun part.

What you'd do

  • Make and post short-form video daily-ish — ideation, filming, editing, publishing. We're after volume and consistency over polish.
  • Run both accounts. Most video will work on TikTok and Reels with light reworking, but Instagram isn't a dumping ground for TikTok exports — Stories, carousels and how we show up in Reels comments all need their own thought.
  • Appear on camera. Not always, but often — but not everything needs a face. Some of our best content will be the fox and the world itself, so you'll be making animated and motion posts too.
  • Make things look good without a designer. You'll have our illustrations, app footage, palette and fonts to work from. We're not expecting studio animation — we're expecting someone who can put together a lovely-looking motion post on their own using CapCut, After Effects, Canva, AI video/image tools, or whatever gets there fastest.
  • Comment as Foxtale/Bearable on other people's videos. Brands that are genuinely funny and warm in the comments of viral posts get more reach than most of their own content does. This is a real part of the job, not an afterthought.
  • Reply to comments and DMs on both accounts, and make people feel like there's a person there.
  • Watch what's working in cosy games, virtual pets, journaling and mental health corners of TikTok, and adapt fast.
  • Feed back to us: what people ask for, what confuses them, what they love. You'll be closer to our users than anyone.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we're looking for

  • You're comfortable and expressive on camera.
  • You already make short-form video, and you can show us things you've posted.
  • You have an instinct for TikTok and Reels — you know when a trend is worth using and when it'd be embarrassing, and how the two platforms differ.
  • You can work unsupervised and hit a posting rhythm without someone chasing you.
  • You care about mental health, and can talk about it without being preachy or clinical.
  • You have a good eye. You don't need to be a designer, but you should be able to work inside a brand's look and make something that feels considered rather than thrown together.
  • You're fluent with AI tools for video, image and motion, and sensible about where they help and where they'd cheapen the brand.
  • Bonus: you're already into cosy games, virtual pets, journaling, or you use apps like Finch and How We Feel.

You don't need marketing experience, a degree, or to know what ASO means. We'd rather have someone who understands the platform in their bones.

Practical stuff

  • 10–15 hours a week to start, flexible when you do them.
  • Fully remote. UK or US time zones work best, but we're open.
  • Paid monthly a rate that reflects experience.
  • 3-month initial contract, with a view to extending and growing the role if it works. You can keep other clients or jobs.
  • You'd work directly with the founder and our marketing lead. Small team, no layers.

How to apply

Send to jesse@bearable.app:

  • Links to short-form video you've made (your own account is ideal, client work is fine). TikTok, Reels or both. If you have anything animated or motion-led, include it.
  • A short note on what you'd post in your first week for Foxtale. Two or three ideas is plenty — we're interested in how you think, not a full strategy deck.
  • A video is very welcome instead of a written note.
