Speech & Language Therapist
We’re recruiting for a Band 5 or Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to join a specialist therapeutic education setting in Essex on a part-time basis.
This is a really rewarding opportunity for an SLT who enjoys working closely with children and young people with SEMH needs, SEND and complex presentations, within a highly supportive and collaborative school environment.
The role is very much embedded within the wider school team. You’ll work alongside teachers, families and other professionals to deliver therapy that supports pupils’ communication, emotional wellbeing and ability to access learning.
The role will include:
- Delivering individual and group Speech & Language Therapy
- Assessing pupils and developing tailored therapy programmes
- Supporting pupils in line with their individual needs and EHCP targets
- Working closely with teachers and the wider therapy team
- Producing assessment and progress reports
- Liaising with families and external professionals
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND and challenging behaviour
- Contributing to a relationships-first, therapeutic approach across the school

We’re looking for:
- A qualified Speech & Language Therapist with the appropriate professional registration, ideally with experience working with children or young people in SEND, SEMH, specialist education or a similar environment.
The client is open to candidates at either Band 5 or Band 6 level, so this could suit someone developing their specialist experience as well as a more established SLT looking for a flexible part-time opportunity.

The core specification requires a degree-level therapy qualification, appropriate registration and experience within the therapist’s specialist field, with experience of working with pupils in challenging contexts particularly relevant.
