About the Role
STEM for Kids is looking for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable instructors to join our growing team in Buckhurst Hill.
You’ll work with children in small groups, helping them explore STEM through practical, hands-on activities including robotics, engineering, coding and creative problem-solving.
You do not need previous STEM, coding or robotics experience. We’re much more interested in finding people who enjoy working with children, communicate well and are keen to learn.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver fun, engaging STEM sessions for children
- Guide students through building, coding and problem-solving activities
- Explain activities clearly and encourage children to work independently
- Support different ages and abilities within the classroom
- Help set up and pack away equipment
- Maintain a positive, safe and welcoming learning environment
- Work alongside other instructors and session leads

Who We’re Looking For
You might be a university student, recent graduate, teaching assistant, tutor, aspiring teacher, or simply someone who enjoys working with children and wants to gain experience.
You should be:
- Confident and comfortable working with children
- Friendly, patient and approachable
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable speaking and demonstrating activities in front of a group
- Willing to learn new STEM activities and equipment
- Able to commit consistently to agreed weekly shifts

Previous teaching, childcare or STEM experience is helpful, but not essential.

Location & Hours
📍 Buckhurst Hill, Essex / East London
Sessions run across Wednesdays, Thursdays and weekends, with shifts allocated based on availability and programme requirements.
