As an IT Part-Time Student – Infrastructure Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will…

  • Monitor, apply changes to, and/or manage current information technology infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance in an integrated environment
  • Perform and apply information analysis to resolve desktop and infrastructure problems
  • Deliver infrastructure technology for business requirements
  • Participate on projects as a team member and work on projects that require contact with other Information Technology departments and business partners at the unit, division, or enterprise level
  • Collaborate with product teams to implement changes and improvements to processes (This may include modifying existing operating systems, designs, or program code, or designing new processes)
  • Communicate and record change documentation

This position is not available to students on immigration visas

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally, you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field; others may apply
  • Available to work 10 – 20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 35 – 40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Able to commute to the designated work location in Dubuque, Iowa, on a weekly basis year-round (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.)
  • Strong people, relationship-building, and communication skills (comfortable interacting with business stakeholders)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • IT experience and knowledge (professional or academic)
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local (Dubuque area) college/university
  • Graduation date December 2027 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • Experience monitoring, changing, and/or managing IT infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance in an integrated environment
  • Experience performing and applying information analysis to resolve infrastructure problems
