Location: Barnsley (S70 4AG)
Hours: Part-time
Shift times: Typically 7:45am – 8:15pm
Hourly Rate: £12.81/hr (plus enhanced rates for Bank Holidays and Overtime)

At Oak House, we’re looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Day Support Worker to join our friendly team. Whether you’ve worked in care before or have gained valuable life experience supporting others, we’d love to hear from you.
Oak House is a small, homely six-bed service supporting adults with complex physical and learning disabilities. Being a smaller service means we can build meaningful relationships, provide truly person-centred support, and create a warm family atmosphere where everyone is valued. As one family member recently said: “Oak House is small enough to feel like family. The care is exceptional.”

The Role
As a Member Of Our Team You Will
- Support adults with their personal, social, emotional, and physical needs.
- Encourage independence and help individuals achieve their personal goals.
- Assist with daily living activities in a respectful and dignified way.
- Support people to access activities, hobbies, and trips within the local community.
- Build positive relationships with the people we support, their families, and colleagues.
- Promote choice, inclusion, wellbeing, and person-centred care.
- Work as part of a supportive team committed to delivering exceptional care.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is
- Naturally caring, patient, and kind.
- Confident and able to communicate effectively.
- Passionate about helping others live independently.
- Positive, reliable, and enthusiastic.
- Comfortable working as part of a team while using their own initiative.
Previous care experience is welcome, but it’s not essential. If you’ve cared for a family member, supported vulnerable people in a previous role, or have life experience that has given you empathy and resilience, we want to hear from you.

Hollybank Trust is committed to Safeguarding vulnerable people, and our Safer Recruitment process requires all employees to have an Enhanced DBS check and reference checks in line with our Recruitment & Selection policy.
We will pay for your initial DBS check, unless you have a portable DBS, however, if the candidate leaves voluntarily within the first 12 months, £58.90 will be deducted from your final salary payment.
