Role Description

The Part-time Tech Instructor will lead technology classes for children aged 3 to 13 in High Wycombe, delivering structured lessons in coding, robotics, digital art, and other STEM topics. This on-site role involves preparing teaching materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring a safe, positive learning environment in schools, clubs, and community settings. The instructor will guide learners through hands-on projects, explain concepts in an age-appropriate way, and provide encouragement and feedback to support skill development. This is a part-time position, and the instructor must have access to a car to travel between venues and carry teaching materials.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills to work effectively with children, caregivers, and school staff.
  • Ability to manage “inventory control” of teaching materials and equipment, including basic organization and care for devices and supplies.
  • Comfort with “shipping & receiving” tasks such as transporting, loading, and unloading tech kits and classroom resources between sites (must have a car).
  • General technical aptitude and enthusiasm for coding, robotics, digital art, or STEM education; prior teaching or tutoring experience with children is highly beneficial.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work part-time hours during school days and/or after-school sessions in High Wycombe.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive environment for diverse learners.
  • Relevant education, training, or certifications in teaching, childcare, computer science, or a related field are an advantage.
  • Ability to pass any required background checks for working with children.
