Location: Wincanton, covering Warminster, Castle Cary & Yeovil
Job Type: Part-Time / Flexible
Shifts: Early and evening shifts available
Start Times: Early shifts from approximately 6:30am
Work: Part-time with potential for more regular ongoing work
DriverHire are recruiting experienced Van Drivers for flexible, part-time work based around Wincanton, with assignments across Warminster, Castle Cary, Yeovil and surrounding areas.
This is a great opportunity for experienced commercial van drivers looking for additional shifts alongside other commitments, with the potential for more regular ongoing work.
The Role
You will work across a number of different client sites and driving assignments. Vehicles may include:
- Flatbed vans
- Box vans
- Tail-lift vehicles
- Standard commercial vans
Duties will vary depending on the client and may include:
- Deliveries and collections
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Safely strapping and securing loads
- Carrying out vehicle checks
- Using tail lifts where required
- Manual handling
- Completing delivery paperwork
- Providing a professional service when dealing with customers

Shifts
We have a mixture of shifts available depending on client requirements, including:
- Early shifts starting from approximately 6:30am
- Evening shifts when required
- Weekday work
- Flexible part-time shifts
- Potential for more regular and ongoing work for reliable drivers
This role would particularly suit someone looking for 1–3 additional shifts per week, although availability can vary depending on client demand.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be over 25 years old due to client insurance requirements
- Hold a full UK Category B driving licence
- Have at least 1 year of commercial van driving experience
- Be experienced and confident in strapping and securing loads safely
- Be comfortable with manual handling and physical work
- Be confident driving different types and sizes of commercial vans
- Have good knowledge of road safety and vehicle checks
- Be reliable, punctual and professional
- Be comfortable working across different client sites
