Athena Events Venue is an award-winning, sustainably operated venue in the heart of the Midlands, designed for conferences, award dinners, exhibitions, weddings, concerts, and large-scale live productions. Originally built in 1936 as an Odeon Cinema, the venue blends restored Art Deco architecture with modern infrastructure and advanced in-house sound, lighting, and rigging. Flexible, fully customizable layouts and an experienced technical team support clients from initial brief through to final execution. Athena can host between 150 and 1,500 guests, offering in-house food and beverage services to ensure a seamless and consistent event experience. Over the past 21 years, the venue has delivered more than 2,500 events for global brands, agencies, organizations, and private clients.
Role Description
The Part-Time Videographer & Content Creator Intern will support the capture and production of high-quality visual content that showcases events at Athena and promotes the venue across digital channels. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Filming events and behind-the-scenes footage on-site
- Operating cameras and basic lighting setups
- Assisting with video editing and post-production
- Creating short-form content for social media, marketing campaigns, and the company website

The intern will collaborate with the events and marketing teams to align content with brand guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Leicester, requiring availability during key event times, including some evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in video production, including planning, shooting, and basic post-production
- Proficient camera operation skills, with experience using different Camera types and shooting video in live event environments
- Basic understanding of Lighting for video, including setting up and adjusting lighting to enhance image quality
- Interest in content creation for social media and digital marketing, with an eye for engaging visual storytelling
- Currently studying or recently completed a course in film, media, communications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Ability to work on-site in Leicester, adapt to fast-paced event schedules, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from feedback
- Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar) is an advantage
