About Hydrohertz
Hydrohertz is a UK technology company developing advanced fluid management and thermal optimisation technology for applications including data centres and automotive systems.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Founder Support & Research Assistant to work closely with the founder and support our fundraising, investor engagement and day-to-day organisation.
This is a part-time / freelance role with flexible working arrangements.
The Role
The main purpose of the role is to help the founder stay organised, informed and on top of investor activity.
You will be responsible for researching suitable investors, building and maintaining investor lists, tracking ongoing conversations and ensuring the founder always has a clear view of where each opportunity stands.
The role will also include diary support, meeting organisation, follow-ups and maintaining accurate records of investor traction and activity.
This position would suit someone who is highly organised, good at research and comfortable working independently.
Main Responsibilities
Investor Research
- Research potential investors relevant to Hydrohertz
- Identify venture capital firms, family offices, strategic investors and corporate venture teams
- Identify the most relevant individuals within each organisation
- Research investment focus, stage, typical cheque size, geography and relevant portfolio companies
- Build and maintain a structured list of potential investors
- Prioritise investors based on relevance and likelihood of fit
- Identify potential introduction routes and mutual connections
Investor Tracking & CRM
- Maintain an accurate investor CRM or tracking system
- Record meetings, calls, emails and other investor activity
- Track which investors have received the pitch deck or other information
- Keep records of feedback received from investors
- Monitor the status of each investor conversation
- Record next actions and follow-up dates
- Track investor traction and progress through the fundraising process
- Highlight investors requiring follow-up
- Ensure opportunities do not get forgotten or go cold unnecessarily

Founder Updates
A key part of the role will be keeping the founder informed. This will include:
- Regular updates on new potential investors identified
- Highlighting the highest-priority opportunities
- Updating the founder on investor progress and outstanding actions
- Flagging upcoming follow-ups
- Providing brief summaries before investor meetings
- Keeping the founder aware of who is active, interested, pending or no longer progressing
- Producing a simple weekly overview of investor activity and priorities
The aim is for the founder to be able to quickly understand the current fundraising position without having to search through emails, notes or spreadsheets.
Diary & Organisation
- Manage and organise investor and business-related diary activity
- Keep track of upcoming meetings
- Help organise investor calls and follow-ups
- Maintain reminders for important actions
- Ensure meeting information and relevant notes are available beforehand
- Keep track of events, introductions and future opportunities
- Help organise the founder's priorities around fundraising and business development
Meeting Preparation
- Research investors before meetings
- Prepare short background notes
- Summarise previous conversations where appropriate
- Highlight relevant portfolio companies or areas of interest
- Record important points following meetings
- Update the CRM with outcomes and agreed next actions

Desirable Experience

Formal investment experience is not essential.
The most important qualities are organisation, reliability, research ability and the ability to keep the founder properly informed.
What Good Performance Looks Like
A successful person in this role will help create structure around our investor activity.
At any point, we should be able to clearly see:
- Which investors we are speaking with
- Which investors are most relevant
- Where each conversation currently stands
- What feedback has been received
- Who needs following up
- What the next action is
- Which meetings are coming up
- Which new investors have recently been identified
- Where genuine investor traction is developing
The assistant should proactively keep the founder updated rather than waiting to be asked for information.
Working Arrangement
This is a part-time / freelance position.
The role is remote with flexible working hours. There is no requirement to work traditional office hours, although regular communication with the founder will be important.
The position may suit an experienced freelancer, virtual assistant, startup assistant, researcher or executive assistant with an interest in startups and investment.
Salary / Rate
Salary / freelance rate is negotiable depending on experience, availability and proposed working hours.
We are open to discussing either an hourly rate or an agreed monthly freelance arrangement.
