NFU Mutual Partner Opportunity in Ballymena
Join the thriving agency of NFU Mutual Mid & West Antrim as a self-employed Partner and help shape the next phase of growth for a successful £multi-million local business. With the support of experienced business partners and agency staff, you’ll help protect the agency’s impressive 95% renewal rate while driving new business growth. Key to your success will be the continued expansion of the agency’s SME/Commercial client portfolio, targeting a diverse range of businesses, from manufacturing to motor traders.
About You
We’re looking for an ambitious commercial lines insurance professional operating in a client-facing capacity. Specifically, you will bring:
- Successful track record of working directly with SME or commercial clients, blending new business development with client management and account growth
- People management experience, with direct responsibility for the performance, development and support of staff
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage clients, colleagues, business partners and wider stakeholders
- A collaborative approach and the ability to lead through others while working effectively as part of an established agency leadership team
- Strong planning and organisation skills, enabling you to manage competing priorities, follow through on commitments and deliver on time
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand business performance, assess opportunities and make sound strategic decisions.

We’d also like to know about any personal interest in or connection to farming, agriculture or the local rural community, given the agency’s farming heritage.
You’ll need to be based within commuting distance of the Ballymena office and hold a valid UK driving licence, as regular travel is required to visit clients and attend meetings and events.
UFU Assistant Group Manager
Alongside your main role as a self-employed Agent of NFU Mutual, you’ll also hold a separate employed position with the Ulster Farmers’ Union as an Assistant Group Manager. This will place you at the heart of the local farming community, helping to arrange meetings and events, recruit and retain members, and keep them informed about agricultural policy. You’ll have the full backing of the UFU, including access to expert advice and specialist support.
