The Role
You will open and lead our new Northern office, in Manchester or Leeds (to be agreed with the successful candidate) and build a local business and team. You will win and lead work with the executive teams of NHS trusts and integrated care boards across the North, carry a personal revenue target, and lead the delivery of the work you win. You will shape CF's strategy and business plan for the North and build the CF brand in the region, and over time potentially in other markets. Reporting to the Managing Partner for Health Systems, you will be a member of CF's senior leadership team. You will develop our people: recruiting, mentoring and acting as a development sponsor, and building a strong local culture that stays closely connected to our London team.
We win work through relationships and insight. You will do well here if you enjoy meeting senior people, getting to the heart of their problem and shaping how CF can help, and if you are comfortable building something without the infrastructure of a large firm.
What you will bring
- A well-established network of senior relationships across the North, including chief executives, directors of finance and other executives of NHS providers and ICBs, and NHS England's North East and Yorkshire and North West regional teams.
- A record of winning work and delivering a personal revenue target, with origination as a primary strength.
- Breadth across health systems, with the ability to originate, scope and quality-assure strategy, operational improvement and system transformation work alongside finance and performance.
- At least 15 years in healthcare consulting, or a combination of consulting and senior roles in the NHS, currently at Director, Associate Partner or Partner level.
- Comfort building something new without the support of a large firm, including running engagements hands-on.
- Based in the North, or willing to relocate, with regular travel to London.
- Desirable: experience selling data-led consulting, or opening an office or building a regional practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
