Role: Partner – Family Financial Remedy Team (London)
As a Partner you will develop clients and work within and support the London Financial Remedy and International Family Law Team with an aim to build and grow the business whilst maintaining a consistent level of excellent client service. To support the Head of Department in delivering the Business Plan for the family team which has a headcount of 72, and growing.
Key Responsibilities
Personalised Client Service
- Effective and efficient delivery of work on own files, ensuring matters are profitable, whilst taking responsibility for the supervision of more junior fee earners with regards to file management and time recording
- Act as the senior lawyer on the most challenging matters. A recognised expert in your discipline/sector
- Build effective relationships with own clients and / or referrers by exceeding client service expectations and where appropriate, support partners on the management and development of larger key clients.
- Manage a client review process and introduce changes based on feedback
- Run effective client/ referrer development plans
- Identify, select and where appropriate, manage external experts or consultants.
- Agree services being provided to clients with a clear basis for charging and pricing.
- Identify and manage professional risk for yourself and the team, ensuring appropriate systems and processes are adhered to.
- Apply the rules of professional conduct in accounting and financial matters, monitoring the supervision of others so these principles are adhered to.

- Lead on the generation of thought leadership based on changes in the law, market trends or other relevant material to attract new opportunities
- Take responsibility for developing department know-how and marketing materials and supporting others
- Cement and grow networks internally and externally to refer business to the department and to the firm.
- Support pitch teams by attending pitches, writing materials and preparing documents.

Financial & Operational Excellence
- Responsible for managing and supervising work in the team to achieve all financial and non-financial KPIs. Use management information to understand the performance of self and team
- Ensure profitability on matters for self and team through understanding the contractual basis on which legal services are provided, including how to calculate and manage costs and bill clients.
- Understand the key challenges in the sector and implement ways to improve business performance through innovative practices
- Align personal contribution and activities to the wider business objectives and the success of the firm.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Business Manager, including occasional work in other offices.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practice of law (essential).
- Knowledge and experience of Financial Remedy, Schedule 1 CA, international/jurisdiction (inc. Part III) (essential)
- Knowledge of Private Law Children (optional)
- ADR qualifications – Arbitration/Mediation/Collaborative Law etc (optional)
- Client following and business plan (desirable).
- Exceptional client management skills (essential).
- Strong business developer with demonstrable experience of converting BD activity to work (essential).
- Strong network – ideally London focused.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, Case Management systems and CRM (essential).
