We are Nexus, and we help accounting firms provide the best all-round support for their clients at every stage of their business.
We partner with small and medium accountancy practices across the UK and act as an extension of their team, connecting them with experienced specialists across commercial finance, protection, tax advisory and a broad range of financial and business services. When a client needs support beyond the firm's existing capabilities, they turn to us.
One relationship, countless capabilities. That's what we give our partner firms, and it only works if every partner gets a consistent, high quality experience every time they need us.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is the role that makes that promise real.
Nexus was built on strong personal relationships with accountancy firms and portfolio CFOs. The Partner Operations Manager owns everything that sits behind those relationships: how partners are onboarded and supported, how referrals move from first call to completion, how opportunities get spotted and followed through, and how the systems that hold it all together stay accurate.
It's a blend of operations and partner success. You'd work directly with the founder, based in Harrogate with two or three days a week in person, and you'd have real ownership from the start.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own and continuously improve the process for onboarding new partner firms and supporting existing ones
- Deliver a consistent, high quality partnership experience across every touchpoint, from the fortnightly partner update to the phone call nobody else would have made
- Manage the referral pipeline end to end, working with our funding experts and other specialists so every client gets a fast, well-handled outcome
- Help our partners' clients get more from the relationship: review the information we gather on each referral, identify where else we can add value
- Keep our systems, data and reporting accurate, and use them to show partners and the founder what's working
- Be the person who knows where everything is and what happens next
ABOUT YOU
- Highly organised and resilient, with an eye for detail and a liking for systems that are right
- A natural relationship builder who's comfortable on the phone with partners and has no instinct to sell to them
- Self-motivated, able to deliver to deadlines and manage several things at once without dropping any
- Familiar with continuous improvement: you notice what could work better and fix it
- Commercially aware, with experience working across different teams and organisations to keep things moving
- Comfortable with a bit of ambiguity. We're a year in, the processes are still being built, and you'll be building them with us
- A few years in a client-facing role in professional services. Practice manager or client manager experience in an accountancy firm is ideal but not essential.
- Confident with spreadsheets, quick to pick up a CRM-style workbench, and curious about using AI tools day to day. We use them a lot.
- Within reach of Harrogate for two or three days a week in person

PACKAGE
£32,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
Full time, hybrid: two or three days a week in Harrogate, the rest from home
25 days' holiday plus bank holidays

Reviewed properly at 12 months once we both know what the role has become
