The Private Client Team

With almost 120 specialists across the firm, HCR’s private client team is one of the largest in the UK. Recognised by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, we advise individuals, families, business owners, trustees, and landed estates on a full range of private client matters.

The Role

  • Delivering expert advice across a broad spectrum of private client matters, including wills, trusts, estate planning, succession planning, probate, and LPA’s.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with high net worth individuals, families, business owners, and landed estates. Many with complex UK and international assets.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across HCR to deliver holistic legal support to clients.
  • Mentoring junior team members and creating an environment of continuous professional development and excellence.
  • Actively contributing to business development and enhancing our market profile across the region and nationally.

About You

You will be:

  • A qualified solicitor with substantial experience in Private Client law.
  • Experienced in advising HNW and UHNW individuals, families, and business owners.
  • Comfortable dealing with complex estates, trusts, and succession planning matters.
  • Capable of managing teams and developing practice areas.
  • Confident in business development.
  • Ideally STEP qualified.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
