The Opportunity
We are working with a leading multidisciplinary property and planning consultancy seeking an experienced Partner – Town Planning to join its established Bristol team.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially minded planning professional who is looking to take the next step in their career, with responsibility for growing client relationships, winning new business, and providing strategic planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The Role
As a Partner, you will play a key role in the continued growth and development of the Bristol planning team. You will combine high-level planning expertise with strong commercial and business development skills, working closely with clients, colleagues, and senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and delivering complex planning instructions across a range of sectors.
- Providing strategic planning advice to landowners, developers, investors, and other key clients.
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
- Identifying and winning new business opportunities across the South West.
- Taking a leadership role in the growth and development of the Bristol planning team.
- Managing and mentoring senior planners and supporting the wider team.
- Preparing and presenting planning strategies, reports, and submissions.
- Representing clients at meetings with local authorities, stakeholders, and other third parties.
- Supporting the wider business with cross-sector and multidisciplinary opportunities.
- Contributing to the strategic direction and commercial performance of the planning business.

About You
We are looking for an established planning professional with a strong track record within private-sector consultancy.
You are likely to have:
- Significant experience in town planning, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- MRTPI qualification or equivalent professional standing.
- A strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
- Proven experience managing complex planning projects and client relationships.
- A strong commercial and business development mindset.
- Existing relationships across the Bristol and wider South West property market.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing planning professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- The confidence and ambition to operate at Partner level and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
