Partnership Accountant – 12-month FTC
Location: London hybrid
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 p/annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Partnership Accountant to join a highly regarded international law firm on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This position sits within a specialist partnership finance team and offers exposure to partner remuneration, capital management, financial reporting and relationship management within a complex partnership structure.
This is a highly visible position requiring close interaction with partners and senior stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting skills with excellent attention to detail, discretion and relationship management capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer partner remuneration processes, ensuring all payments are calculated accurately and processed in a timely manner.
- Support the management and reconciliation of partner capital accounts.
- Prepare and maintain partner financial records, statements and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate partner distributions, drawings and other partnership-related payments.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports relating to partner finances and capital positions.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries relating to partnership accounting activities.
- Assist with partner cashflow forecasting and financial planning requirements.
- Maintain accurate partner data across finance systems and ensure information is kept up to date.
- Act as a first point of contact for partner finance queries, providing a professional and responsive service.
- Support annual processes including partner admissions, retirements and capital movements.
- Assist with audit requests and the preparation of information required for statutory and year-end reporting processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and financial controls within the partnership finance function.

Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or suitably experienced finance professional.
- Previous experience within partnership accounting, professional services or a law firm environment.
- Strong understanding of partnership finance, capital accounting and partner remuneration processes.
- Excellent reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Able to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders and partners.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Professional, discreet and capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience of working within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
