About the Role
Can you turn strong relationships into real opportunities for young people?
We are looking for a confident and commercially minded Partnership Manager to lead employer and stakeholder engagement for the Youth Jobs Guarantee programme.
This is a role for someone who can open doors, build trust quickly and turn good conversations into jobs, placements and progression routes.
You will lead employer and stakeholder engagement with pace and purpose, using insight to build the right opportunity pipeline and challenge activity that is not delivering results.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead employer and partnership engagement, creating a clear plan that supports participant demand, performance and labour-market opportunity.
- Build trusted relationships with employers, Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, community organisations and specialist providers.
- Manage Employer Engagement Consultants, setting priorities, tracking activity and building a confident, accountable team.
- Maintain a strong opportunity pipeline, making sure there is enough volume, range and quality to meet programme expectations.
- Use data and insight to focus activity, spot gaps, improve conversion and manage risk.
- Influence inclusive recruitment, helping employers create practical routes into work for young people who may face barriers.
- Improve job matching and retention, working with delivery colleagues to strengthen preparation, onboarding and follow-up.
- Report performance clearly, giving the Service Manager an accurate view of progress, risks and action required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
