Rail Delivery Group (RDG) partners with Britain's train operators to put customers at the heart of everything we do, delivering essential services and dedicated experts who keep the nation's railway running efficiently.

From journey information, reservations, and Railcards to improving performance, safety, and accessibility, we drive the services and people that keep the railway moving. Anyone who has traveled by train or booked a journey for friends or family will have used our services. We are integral to the running of the railway and play a crucial part at every stage of the customer journey—making sure we are delivering a better railway for all our customers, now and in the future.

What is the purpose of this job?

The purpose of this role is to provide support to our Partnerships Settlement Lead within the Settlement and Treasury Team.

What can I expect to do in this job?

This is not an exhaustive list, but the tasks expected from this role include:

  • Extracting information from our sales system (Salesforce) and producing reports relating to promotional codes redeemed in total and individual reports for the different Railcard partners
  • Raising invoices to Railcard partners and the creation of accompanying backup files
  • Receiving queries from our payment card provider (Global Payments), investigating these queries, and taking appropriate action
  • Maintaining accurate records of cheque payments, notifying our Railcard call center team of any rejections, and working closely with them to obtain timely resolutions
  • Receiving queries from customers (via our Railcard partners), investigating these queries, and taking appropriate action
  • Actioning refund requests in relation to Railcards, where the method of payment was via promotional code
  • Creation of and maintaining correct levels of promotional codes for Railcard partners
  • Undertaking bank reconciliations, reconciling sales made via the Rail Staff Travel online retail system with funds received in the bank and sales reported to LENNON
  • Provide input into and continuously consider ways to work more efficiently, this will include keeping procedure notes up to date and collaborating with other team members
  • Provide support to the team, as and when cover is required
  • Other ad hoc tasks

Essential

  • A team player and able to work independently
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Very comfortable working with numbers and data files
  • Naturally inquisitive, willing to try to work out the answers for yourself
  • Hard-working and reliable
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Experience of using MS Excel and MS Word
  • Ability to handle sensitive information

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Salesforce and/or Global Payments would be an advantage (although training will be provided)
