Partnership Tax Manager — Global Law Firm
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a visible, partner-facing tax role within one of the world’s leading law firms. Based in London and working across a genuinely international partnership, you’ll advise senior stakeholders on complex UK and cross-border tax matters while helping shape how the firm manages partner tax globally.
Sitting within the firm’s established finance and tax function, the role offers far more than a traditional compliance remit. You’ll become a trusted adviser to partners, combining technical expertise with commercial judgement across remuneration, mobility, international expansion and key partnership events.
The role
- Take ownership of UK partnership tax compliance, including partnership returns, partner statements, tax computations, profit allocations, capital movements and tax reporting
- Advise partners and senior stakeholders on their tax affairs, translating complex issues into clear, practical guidance delivered with discretion and commercial awareness
- Manage international partner tax matters, including mobility, overseas filings, withholding taxes, social security, tax equalisation and permanent establishment considerations
- Provide tax input on partner admissions, retirements, lateral hires and secondments, while contributing to wider projects involving governance, restructuring, systems and process improvement

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
