Help Educere build meaningful partnerships with schools, universities, charities, parent groups and community organisations as we establish inclusive education, SEND, wellbeing and community programmes across the UK.
What difference will you make?
This role will help Educere establish the trusted relationships needed to launch relevant, sustainable and community-led activities in the UK.
By connecting us with schools, universities, SEND organisations, parent-carer groups, charities, councils and community networks, the volunteer will help Educere understand local priorities, avoid duplicating existing services and develop programmes in response to genuine needs.
Their work will create opportunities to identify participants, specialist contributors, venues, referral pathways and delivery partners for our first UK education and SEND pilot.
The volunteer will also help build partnerships around Educere’s Learning Management System, enabling educators, parents, carers, volunteers and community organisations to access inclusive training and educational resources.
Strong community relationships will improve Educere’s credibility, visibility and ability to reach underserved groups. They will also support future collaborative projects, funding applications and opportunities to expand successful programmes.
Ultimately, this role will help Educere deliver more effective inclusive-education, SEND, wellbeing and community initiatives while ensuring that the people and organisations we aim to support are involved in shaping our work.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a confident, organised and relationship-focused volunteer who can help Educere build trusted partnerships and engage effectively with communities.
The most important requirement is at least three years’ relevant professional experience in partnerships, stakeholder engagement, community development, outreach, business development, public relations, education or a closely related field.

The ideal volunteer will have
- Experience developing partnerships with schools, charities, universities, councils, businesses or community organisations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence approaching new organisations and arranging meetings.
- The ability to represent Educere professionally.
- Good research, planning and record-keeping skills.
- Experience maintaining stakeholder relationships and following up agreed actions.
- An understanding of inclusive, community-led engagement.
- Good judgement about what can and cannot be promised on behalf of an organisation.
- The ability to listen to community perspectives and communicate them clearly to the wider team.
- Cultural awareness and respect for people from different backgrounds and experiences.
- The ability to work independently while providing regular progress updates.
It would be particularly helpful if the volunteer has knowledge of Middlesbrough, the Tees Valley or the wider North East, or experience working in education, SEND, mental health, youth development or the voluntary sector.
Experience organising consultations, networking events, partnership meetings or community activities would also be valuable.
The successful volunteer should be approachable, diplomatic, persistent, reliable and comfortable building relationships within a developing organisation.
Applicants must be based in the United Kingdom. Applicants with relevant North East connections are especially encouraged.

What will you be doing?
The Partnerships and Community Engagement Lead will help Educere Development Agency UK CIC establish trusted relationships with organisations and communities as we prepare to launch our first UK activities.

Working closely with the Director and other volunteer leads, the volunteer will
- Research and map relevant schools, universities, councils, charities, SEND organisations, parent-carer groups, community centres and businesses.
- Identify potential partners whose work aligns with Educere’s mission.
- Prepare introductory emails, presentations and meeting briefs.
- Contact approved organisations and arrange introductory meetings.
- Represent Educere professionally at agreed meetings, consultations and networking events.
- Maintain an organised stakeholder and partnership database.
- Record meeting outcomes, agreed actions and follow-up dates.
- Support community listening sessions involving educators, parents, carers, volunteers and people with lived experience.
- Help identify programme partners, venues, speakers, facilitators and participants.
- Explore partnerships connected to Educere’s Learning Management System, including organisations that may benefit from accessible online training and educational resources.
- Support the preparation of partnership proposals and agreements where appropriate.
- Ensure that no financial, contractual or programme commitments are made without authorisation.
- Provide regular updates on partnership activity, opportunities and risks.
Key initial deliverables will include a stakeholder map, partnership contact database, introductory meetings with priority organisations, a community consultation activity and potential partners for Educere’s first UK pilot.
The role is part of Educere’s founding UK volunteer team, working alongside the Safeguarding and Inclusion Lead, Volunteer and People Coordinator, and Education and SEND Programme Lead.
