About the company
A next-generation payments business powering recurring commerce, with infrastructure and solutions that unify and optimise how its customers move money. It pairs deep sector expertise with a partnership-led service, and it is scaling fast, so it will suit someone who wants to build inside a business that is still writing its next chapter.
The opportunity
This is a build-and-own commercial role for someone who wants to shape a financial services partner channel from the front rather than inherit a tidy one. You'll carry a revenue number and own the partner ecosystem that feeds direct sales: signing the platforms, ISVs, SIs and consultancies that put the business in front of financial services clients across Lending, Collections, Insurance and Wealth Management, then turning each one into a live, repeatable pipeline channel. It blends new-logo hunting with portfolio growth, and it is commercial from end to end.
To be clear, this is a proven-hands role. We need someone who has done this before and can walk in and run from day one, not ramp into it. This is not a step-up or a learn-on-the-job hire.
Why this role stands out
- Ground-floor ownership: you build and run the FS partner channel and directly influence how partner-sourced revenue scales, rather than maintaining someone else's book.
- Serious commercial weight: you carry a number and own the Net Revenue case for every partnership, so your impact is measured, not fluffy.
- Live product story: the business is rolling out a new billing engine and expanding its recurring payments, smart recovery and Variable Recurring Payments (VRP) propositions, so you have something differentiated to take to market.
- Visible seat: you report to the Head of Partnerships FS and work daily with Sales, Product and Marketing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll do
- Own and grow a portfolio of existing FS partnerships: performance reviews, uncovering untapped revenue in their client bases, and acting as the link between partners, the SDR outreach engine and the direct sales team. Track Net Revenue per partner, accounting for direct costs and bad debt.
- Originate net-new partners: build and own a pipeline of ISV, SI and consultancy partners across Debt Recovery, Lending, Insurance and Wealth Management, using market mapping, networking and outbound to build from a cold start.
- Activate every partner as a channel for direct sales: embed referral processes, agree routing and follow-up with Sales leadership, and track partner-sourced pipeline and conversion so partners become a repeatable source of new business.
- Structure and negotiate the deals: lead commercial negotiations, own the Net Revenue business case, and work with Legal and Finance to get agreements signed and launch-ready.
- Launch and enable: onboard and train partners on the value proposition before go-live, work with the solutions team to turn partnerships into live integrations, then transition them into ongoing management.
- Own pipeline and forecasting in HubSpot, and report origination KPIs alongside existing-partner growth and downstream revenue.
- Fly the flag at industry events (for example, IFY and SubscriptionX) and feed competitor and market intelligence back to Product.

What you'll bring
- 5+ years in Partnerships, Channel Sales or Business Development, within Financial Services or the technology that enables it (for example WealthTech, WealthSaaS, LendTech, InsurTech or RegTech). A payments background is a plus, not a requirement.
- Direct, hands-on experience doing this role before: building and running an FS partner or channel programme and carrying a number against it, so you can pick it up and deliver from day one.
- A strong grip on the Financial Services landscape (Lending, Collections, Insurance, Wealth Management or FX), or the platforms that serve it.
- A commercial operator with a track record of hitting targets, growing a partner portfolio and building pipeline from a cold start, and closing six-figure-plus agreements.
- Dynamic, hungry and entrepreneurial, as comfortable chasing new logos as growing existing ones.
- Already fluent in the commercial and technical language of the space, able to translate platform and payment concepts (for example VRP, cVRP and API logic) into commercial value without a run-up.
- Proficiency with HubSpot, and familiarity with AI-driven outreach tools (Clay, Lemlist).
