Organisation Overview

Based in Ayr, the Energy Agency is an independent charity providing impartial advice and practical support on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable transport. We deliver a wide range of projects across South West Scotland, working with households, businesses, and communities to reduce energy use, lower carbon emissions, and tackle fuel poverty.

Home Energy Scotland (HES) is a Scottish Government-funded advice service, managed by the Energy Saving Trust, designed to help people across Scotland reduce their energy bills, cut carbon emissions, and live more sustainably. HES offers free, impartial advice to householders, community organisations, and businesses on topics such as home energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable transport, and water saving.

Since 2008, the Energy Agency has operated the Home Energy Scotland South West Advice Centre, supporting residents and organisations across Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway. The service helps customers to make informed decisions about energy improvements, access funding and grants, and take practical steps toward a more sustainable, low-carbon lifestyle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
