Introduction
Paul Rigby Ltd is seeking a friendly and organised Parts Advisor in Birmingham, West Midlands. This role ensures technicians, sales teams and customers receive the correct parts and information promptly, supporting vehicle repair and service operations and contributing to customer satisfaction and efficient workshop performance.
Purpose of the role
The Parts Advisor will manage parts enquiries and orders, maintain accurate stock records and provide expert product knowledge to colleagues and customers. The role supports operational continuity by ensuring the right parts are available when needed and by helping to resolve parts-related issues efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and manage parts enquiries from customers, workshop staff and suppliers.
- Identify required parts using technical manuals, parts catalogues and systems.
- Process orders accurately, managing stock levels and reordering as necessary.
- Prepare parts for collection or dispatch, checking quality and documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers to chase deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain clean, organised parts storage and accurate inventory records.
- Provide clear advice on part compatibility, pricing and lead times.
- Support the sales team with aftermarket parts enquiries and upselling where appropriate.

Essential Skills And Experience
- Experience working in a parts, workshop or automotive retail environment.
- Good knowledge of vehicle parts and the ability to interpret parts catalogues or technical references.
- Strong customer service skills with clear verbal and written communication.
- Accurate data entry and basic numeracy for pricing and stock records.
- Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications
No formal qualifications are strictly required, but vocational training or certifications related to automotive parts or vehicle maintenance will be advantageous.
What Paul Rigby Ltd offers
- Working pattern: Full-time, Permanent.
- Salary: £30,000 to £33,000 per annum.
