Sales Assistant/Parts Advisor
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well-established team at Western Towing Exeter. We are looking for a new team member to primarily work in our showroom. The successful candidate will assist with the day to day running of our retail department and work closely alongside the busy workshop.
A knowledge of cars or knowledge of vehicle parts would be ideal but not essential.
At Western Towing we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service to our customers. We are personal and professional in our approach and committed to ensuring that our knowledgeable and friendly staff continue to drive this service.
The successful applicant will primarily take on the following daily responsibilities:
- Serving customers in person, over the telephone and via email
- Checking our hire fleet in and out
- Checking in deliveries and putting stock away
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment
This role is so much more than completing a set of admin and retail duties. We are looking for a dynamic team player who takes pride in their work and enjoys actively contributing to our service. The ideal candidate would also have the following abilities.

- Be motivated, have a positive personality, sense of humour and drive to be successful
- Be willing and ready to learn, a knowledge of towbars and trailers is preferred but by no means essential. Fast learners, please apply!
- Be a skilled communicator as the face of Western Towing, making a fantastic first impression is key. This is the first step to building long-lasting relationships; our primary goal is to make our customers happy by delivering a premium service.
- Be approachable and friendly as well as having a good telephone manner and level of written English.
- Be computer literate, our main stock control and invoicing is managed on Sage Accounts. Experience with this software could be an advantage but is not a necessity
- Be a team player. We are a small team that works closely together. Team members take pride in their roles and support others so that, ultimately, our customers receive the best service possible. It also makes a better place to work!

Location
- You will be based in our Exeter branch
Salary
- Starting at £27795
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday 08:55 - 17:35
- Saturday 08:55 - 12:35 on a rota basis (every other Saturday)
- Closed on Bank Holidays & from Christmas eve to New Year
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written proficiency in English
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management
- Experience in merchandising and upselling products
- Proficiency in using computer software such as Sage
- Multilingual abilities for effective customer interactions
