Role Description
The Parts Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Chelmsford. In this position, the Parts Assistant supports the repair centre by ordering, receiving, and issuing vehicle parts to technicians while maintaining accurate stock control. Typical responsibilities include:

The role also involves liaising with suppliers to resolve queries, tracking delivery times, and ensuring parts are available to meet repair schedules. The Parts Assistant works closely with the workshop and front-of-house teams to help deliver efficient, high-quality repairs and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and stock control skills, including experience handling inventory, tracking orders, and managing parts storage areas.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with technicians, service advisors, and suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic IT and administrative skills, including confidence using repair or parts management systems, email, and spreadsheets for accurate record-keeping.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, ensuring parts are correct, deliveries are checked, and issues with suppliers or orders are resolved promptly.
- Previous experience in automotive parts, vehicle body repair, or a related automotive environment is beneficial.
- A valid driving licence and the ability to safely move and handle parts and components is advantageous.
- Commitment to excellent customer service, reliability, and a safety-conscious approach to work is expected.
